The last time I saw one of those, I was 72.

In my past life.

I try to keep positive and say nice things on internet, not question others taste in cars. BUT, I’m sure there aren’t many lumina fans (lumineers) here, so here goes: IF YOU HAVE ANY POSITIVE FEELINGS ABOUT THE CHEVROLET LUMINA YOUR FEELINGS ARE DIRTY AND WRONG! that is all.

My dad had a Lumina as a company car in the 90's. I don’t remember much about it.

I was pointing out the old ass taxi part, not the Lumina part.

sorry, so much lumina hate. seeing one just takes me there. These were really common as taxis when I started skinning my knuckles. Have had to remove damp and smelly back seat and wiggle into the equally damp and smelly trunk at 8:00 on a monday morning to retrieve someone’s luggage the moment the body shop opened. So some, but not all of my lumina bloodfeud with gm applies to them in taxi form (the rest applies to all luminas though.)

They do seem to be very durable cars.

Last time I checked, PGPD in Maryland still has a couple in service. With the Recaro seats also.....

Looked like this exactly....

This taxi gave me a throw back also, since ya rarely see cars this old still at it.

I concede that point. As long as the (made of chocolate) transmission holds together they will run basically forever. There is bad blood between the general and I, but in the old chevy tradition, it will run badly longer than some cars will run. Having been a Breathalyzer/interlock technician for a while I got to work on a number of still running vehicles that no legitimate shop would ever work on. Over 700 plus installs the lumina popped up quite often, and often in deplorable condition with non opening doors, broken seats, and gaping holes in dashes bleeding out the technicolour spaghetti of numerous dodgy stereo installs/thefts.
